Candidates should have a pertinent and clear debriefing explaining reasoning behind the level given. This is especially the case where a candidate has failed (3 or below) or was expecting a better result (4 instead of 5).
Assessors should not hesitate to show the ICAO marking grid and explain the required criteria for each descriptor and why the candidate has not reached the level. Providing concrete examples may be useful in this case.
The debriefing can be useful for candidates to provide areas for improvement for the next time.
