Describe these pictures in as much detail as you can

Words which may help you:

  • Lightning – storm / thunderstorm – thunder and lightning
  • Overcast – cloudy – dark clouds – thunder clouds

Questions to think about:

  • What is the weather like?
  • What can you see on the right-hand side of the aircraft, behind the aircraft’s wing?
  • What do the weather conditions look like on the left-hand side of the photo (above the aircraft’s wing)
  • Describe the aircraft. Is it an aircraft type you recognise?
  • What can you see in front of the aircraft’s wheels? Why are they there?
  • Describe the airfield.
  • What were the weather conditions at the airfield like when the photo was taken? Do you think they were likely to change? Why (not)?
  • What people can you see in the photo? How many of them are there? Where are they?
  • What are they wearing? Who do you think they are?

  • Do you think this is a recent photograph? Why (not)?
  • What can you see in the background?
  • What buildings can you see behind the aircraft on the left of the photo?
